I don't get to go to the beach very often, but when I do, I fully enjoy myself. I love to be in the water, however cold it is (prefer it warm though), and the feeling of sand between my toes. Today, the second day of my "on a whim" vacation I got to go.

So Blue |
The sky had been on-again off-again cloudy for most of the day before we left and I was slightly worried that it would rain before we could get in the water. My fears were for naught though, when we got there the sun was bright and hot and so was the sand. Silly me, I forgot my sandals back at home and brought only my sneakers. In order not to get them full of sand I took them off, hence the problem with the scorching sand.

The Hot Stuff |
We chose a spot near the water and quickly slimed up (put on our sunscreen). After waiting for it to soak in, we took off down to the water. It. Was. Cold. Surprisingly so. But after a while of wading around, dodging waves and generally putting off the inevitable I took the plunge. Again, a shock, but it was so good to be in the ocean I got over myself.

The Cold Stuff |
Me, my sister and one of our cousins played about in the waves for 40 minutes or so. We drifted, body surfed, talked and just enjoyed each others company. We took a break and tossed a ball around, then got back in the water after our toes began to burn in the blistering sand. In the end, we all just sat around and watched my sister try to catch some final waves. It was just so relaxing to sit and have nothing else to do.

Games |
I had fun and hope to continue to do so for the rest of my time here.
